The National Skipping Challenge is a project organised by ‘Skipping Workshops’. Beginning in 2002 over 1800 children from over 700 different schools throughout England , Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland & Ireland have taken part. We've also had entries from Guernsey and the Isle of Man.

The objective is to motivate and inspire children who have developed an interest in skipping and wish to improve their skills. The challenge is divided into six categories, each with a minimum qualifying standard. Any child reaching the qualifying standard can, through their school, submit their name to us and at the end of term a list will be published of the best scores in each category. Latest scores are published below and can be sent to schools on request. We hope this will encourage children to raise their own standards and strive to improve further. The first two years of the challenge saw a huge rise in standards of skipping across the country.

There are no prizes on offer; this project is about fun and striving to improve; however, the top three children in each category at the end of each term will receive a commemorative certificate.
