Seer Green Skippers

Seer Green Skippers, our local skipping club which is based at the school, meets once a month in the Jubilee Hall. New members, of all ages and abilities, are always welcome to attend one of our sessions and then possibly join the Skippers. Once again, we have had another incredibly successful year.  Our display team has demonstrated their skills at Dr Challoner’s High, The Beaconsfield School and most recently at the Holtspur School summer fair.

In September, 16 members took part in the National Freestyle championships and one of our team, Georgia Toay, was crowned the United Kingdom Freestyle Champion in the Under 11 age group.

In February, 13 members took part in the National Speed Championships and gained 33 medals in total! At the end of the event, Lara Liebenberg and Bronwyn Edwards had, between them, won every category of speed skipping available to the Under 11 age group. In March, Olivia Martin and Bronwyn Edwards won the National Pairs Under 11  Championship.

The most outstanding achievement of the year has been that of Georgia Toay ( aged 11 ) and Tiffany Branscombe ( aged  13 ) who have been selected to represent Great Britain in the 12 – 14 section of the World Youth Games which are to be held in Loughborough in late July.

I’m sure you’ll agree that to have every possible United Kingdom champion in the Primary age category, as well as two who will be representing Great Britain later this year, is a staggering achievement for a little village in South Bucks!
