Earlier in 2016, Farncombe C of E Infant School used some of their School Sports Premium money to arrange a visit from Skipping Workshops.
After the day of skipping, in which each class learnt a variety of skipping-skills, the staff saw a remarkable impact in two key areas:
- An increase in activity among pupils.
- An improvement in behaviour.
They say: “Verbal conflict has virtually disappeared, as those children who were previously arguing are now busy with ropes.
“The staff were blown away by the progress the children made and how they all enjoyed skipping. I thought this would be a one-off event, but want to make it part of our annual program. I am amazed by the confidence and co-ordination the children have developed.”
– Headteacher Andrea Simonsson
Skipping Workshops can provide lasting value to your school, by helping improve both playground behaviour and the culture of physical education among the pupils.
“Using the skills and knowledge of a professional PE organisation was crucial for us in enabling this change to be successful.”
